Weather data

Weather station at the Tony Lapham Predator Hub

The Mara Cheetah Project is continuously recording weather conditions because variables such as temperature and rainfall are important factors that influence cheetah behaviour, both directly and indirectly. Using a Davis Vantage Vue weather station based at the Tony Lapham Predator Hub we collect data on:

    • Temperature
    • Rainfall
    • Humidity
    • Barometric pressure
    • Wind speed
    • Wind direction

Rather than keeping these data solely for the project we would like to share these data with you – so please feel free to use them! All we ask is that if you use the data for any publications and/or reports that you kindly acknowledge the Mara Cheetah Project. If you would like to see graphical displays of the data or if you would like to see the current weather conditions at the Tony Lapham Predator Hub, click here.
